QUETTA: Appalled by the high mother and infant mortality rate in Dera Bugti, the Balochistan chief secretary has issued directives for doctors who got admissions in medical colleges on the Dera Bugti seats, to serve at least one year in their district. Fateh Mohammad was on a one-day visit to Sui and Dera Bugti along with a delegation of senior bureaucrats to review the security situation and pace of work on uplift schemes in the district. “It is wrong impression that Dera Bugti is a no-go area,” he said this during meeting with the MNA Mir Hamdan Khan Bugti-led delegation of Bugti tribes and district officials at Dera Bugti. The chief secretary after meetings with the tribal elders and district officials observed that officials deputed in the Dera Bugti district were not performing their duties, which has hampered the development process in the area.
