Happily married: Elderly couple ties the knot

Police said Muhammad Sharif, now 62, fell in love with a neighbor, Naseem Akhtar, about 40 years ago.

FAISALABAD: An elderly man on Wednesday married a woman in Rohda village he was separated from forty years ago. Police said Muhammad Sharif, now 62, fell in love with a neighbor, Naseem Akhtar, about 40 years ago. However, Naseem was married off to Muhammad Rafiq and had four children. Sharif did not marry. Naseem and Rafiq later returned to Rodha where Rafiq died five years ago. After his death, Naseem’s children and grandchildren also participated in the wedding on Wednesday.
