WELLINGTON:
New Zealand Olympic chiefs launched an investigation into a blunder that almost cost reigning women’s shot put champion Valerie Adams the chance to defend her title in London. An ‘administrative error’ meant Adams’ name was missing from the official start list for her competition, according to the New Zealand Olympic Committee statement, leaving officials scrambling to get her included so she could take part.
