Safety precautions: 100 workshops engaged in road safety
In order to mitigate CNG related accidents numerous measures were being adopted.
ISLAMABAD:
More than 100 workshops are engaged in certifying vehicles with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) all over the country to ensure safety provisions. These centres were established under a campaign launched by the Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP) to prevent accidents caused by CNG vehicles. An official of HDIP said that in order to mitigate CNG related accidents numerous measures were being adopted which included: the creation of these centres and disallowing uncertified vehicles with fitness certificates or route permits by relevant transportation authorities.
