Sectarian strife: Security beefed up for Juma prayers

Police officials said that security was beefed up in and around Quetta.

QUETTA: Security was bolstered in the provincial capital with additional deployment of policemen and Frontier Corps personnel around the main mosques and imambargahs on Friday.

Police officials said that security was beefed up in and around Quetta city to guard the worship places where faithful converged to offer the Juma prayers.

“Extra check posts were sett up in the city,” he added. Sources said that the personnel of law enforcing agencies were deployed at entry and exit points of the city to check the vehicles and pedestrians entering the provincial metropolis. The mobile teams of the law enforcers were seen patrolling the sensitive areas of the city to avoid any untoward incident.
