Football: Unauthorised matches are illegal, says PFF

KARACHI: Following in the footsteps of the Pakistan Cricket Board, the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has announced that any local tournament on district, provincial or national level will be considered illegal unless it is held with the permission of the federation. An NOC must be obtained two months prior to the event. “Anything that is not brought to the federation’s notice is considered illegal,” PFF Secretary Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi told The Express Tribune. The condition applies for both men and women tournaments as well as the futsal events that take place every month. The decision came in action after Islamabad District Football Association held a tournament last month which featured different clubs that were not listed with the PFF but the prizes were given in the name of the federation.
