Dispute: Mother, son killed over property

The dispute was over 1.5 acres of land.

FAISALABAD: A youth and his mother were shot dead on Wednesday over property in Rajoa, Chiniot district. Police say two of the assailants have been arrested.

Police said Ejaz Ahmad, a resident of Hudd village, had had a dispute with Sheikh Abdul Haq Puri and Sheikh Noor Ahmad over 1.5 acres of land. They said both the sides claimed possession of the land. On Wednesday, Puri, along with seven unidentified men, shot Ejaz. They also shot his mother, Parveen, who was with him at the time. On hearing the gunshots, some residents of the area rushed to the rescue, but by the time they reached there, the mother and the son were dead. Rajoa SHO claims to have arrested two of the assailants, Ahmad and Manak.
