ISLAMABAD:
While dual nationality case against the advisor to Prime Minister on interior Rehman Malik, is already pending before the Supreme Court, another petition has been filed challenging his new election as senator.
Petitioner Syed Iqbal Kazmi raised three objections against his new election and made election commission, federal government and Rehman Malik respondents in this petition.
He took-up the matter of fee, Rehman Malik had claimed to have submitted with his application to renounce his British nationality back in 2008.
In his affidavit Malik reportedly claimed that he had submitted fee of 385 pounds to British home office while actually the fee at that time was 225 British pounds. By submitting a false statement he has committed perjury, the petitioner said.
The second objection raised by the petitioner is related to citizenship act of Pakistan under which a person if renounces his Pakistani citizenship cannot reclaim it unless he applies.
According to petitioner, Malik has not come up with any evidence that proves that he again applied for Pakistani citizenship. He quoted relevant clauses of Pakistan Citizenship Act 1951.

We can go against people with dual nationality that is one thing and has supporters for that in a democracy. However, if one wrongly assumes that Malik renounced his Pakistani citizenship to get the UK nationality or for whatever reason, then he is not a dual national he is a total foreigner like Mansoor Ijaz is. We cannot condemn Malik for both dual citizenship and a total foreigner! However, with the PCO SC and its "party" members everything is possible. In short for some who hate elected leaders of PPP, Malik was a dual national, and then he was forced to give up his UK nationality, now all of a sudden he is not a citizen of any country! The PCO SC has to use some common sense and should not accept the cases which contradict themselves and make a mockery of justice. He is true Pakistani with British nationality, he is shame proof.
When did he renounce his pakistani citizenship?
It is not an issue of Rehman Malik, it is an issue of fundamental credibility of Pakistan. Why have two faced politicians ruling the country, people with dubious loyalties.

Time to increase court fees! At least someone would prosper from this unending petitions.

@Arbab Zaheer: What i don't understand is why there are NO PETITIIONS being filed against anyone other than PPP? Can you tell me please? There can be no bar on filing petitions with the SC, right? So why doesn't PPP or its supporters file petitions in the SC against all other people they feel should be dragged into the courts for their sins. The reason is that either the PPP is already in bed with these people or it just can't find enough reasons. If the SC continue to refuse to accept or hear such PPP sponsored / supported petitions, then i'll stand with them and make noise. Until then, the citizens of Pakistan have the right to file a petition against whomever they feel. Cheers.
Petitioners such as this Syed Iqbal Kazmi are clearly afflicted with accute anxiety and grievous mental sufferings. Instead of running to the Supreme Court with all their fears and phobias, they are best in the care of some 'Institutionalized Mental Health Units' where such Obsessive Compulsive Disorders can be handled.
Is it free to file a petition in supreme court or CJ has a revolving fund to cater to all these petitions filing if it is against a PPP person
