Bannu Jailbreak: K-P says Centre to charge sheet FC men
The chief minister suspended the jail superintendent, DCO Bannu and a few others.
PESHAWAR:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) home and tribal affairs department has said that the federal government will charge sheet the two Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel held responsible for the Bannu jailbreak.
The interior ministry looks after the paramilitary force and therefore the federal government would take action against its officials, the department said in a statement.
The provincial government was restricted by Rules of Business 1973 to take action against employees of the federal government, it added.
“The chief minister suspended the jail superintendent, DCO Bannu and a few others but did not charge sheet the FC personnel because the provincial government does not have jurisdiction over the force,” Qamar Ali, the section officer media, told The Express Tribune.
