LAHORE:

The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Punjab representatives on Tuesday submitted their proposals on a new service structure for doctors to the Lahore High Court (LHC).

Advocate Raja Zulqarnain, representing the YDA, told the court that the recommendations had already been submitted to the government. Justice Ijazul Ahsan handed over a copy of the YDA proposals to Additional Advocate General Faisal Zaman and told him to forward it to the committee set up by the government to design the new service structure. He directed him to submit the minutes of the next meeting of the committee on the next hearing (July 31). The proposals include recruiting all doctors in permanent jobs through the Punjab Public Service Commission; raising the number of house officers to equal the number of students graduating from the respective institutions; recruitment of doctors in BS-18 and a one grade upgrade for all doctors currently in service.
