Cricket: Sri Lanka race to nine-wicket win over India

HAMBANTOTA: Sri Lanka thrashed India by nine wickets in the second one-day international in Hambantota on Tuesday to level the five-match series 1-1.

Upul Tharanga (59 not out) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (50) added 119 for the opening wicket as Sri Lanka achieved a modest 139-run target with more than 30 overs to spare in the day-night match.

Earlier India were bowled out for 138 in 33.3 overs after electing to bat.

Opener Gautam Gambhir top-scored for India with 65 while pacemen Thisara Perera and Angelo Mathews each bagged three wickets for Sri Lanka.

India were leading 1-0 in the five-match series following their 21-run victory in the opening one-dayer on Saturday.

@amalgam: ha ha.. i thought the same. anyways, well done sri lanka. you outperformed us. our batting has collapsed after a very long time, kinda forgot that feeling.
