KARACHI: I am disgusted by the MQM and the ANP for continuing their fight especially at a time like this. When will they ever stop? I am also disgusted by all religious parties for the way they have continued their war against non-Muslim Pakistani citizens and Ahmadis within our country even at this time of crisis.

The Punjab government should be ashamed for succumbing to the fear of mullahs and bigoted Muslims by refusing help to Ahmadis affected by floods in Punjab, as reported in your newspaper. Instead of refusing to accept such religious bigotry, and instead of punishing them for even voicing such bigotry, the Punjab government acceded to their hateful demands by turning the Ahmadis out of the government school, where they had taken refuge. This makes the Punjab government complicit in practicing hate and bigotry.

No government can be forgiven for acceding to the demands of bigots and extremists. How would such bigots like to be put in prisons with no food or water? These hateful people are the worst specimens of the human race.

Strange, after calling all the non-Muslim people of this world all kinds of names, these bigots are fine with accepting help from them, but have the audacity to hold back the same aid from Ahmadis. What right have these bigots to expect help from the non-Muslims of this world, if they can only hate in return?

We must not forget that the maximum help and support has come from non-Muslim states. A secular state upholds the best of Islamic values as it does not discriminate and respects the human rights of all citizens equally.
