Dengue update: Another two cases reported in Karachi
The low number of patients is attributed to the fact that it has not yet rained in the city.
KARACHI:
A total of 107 dengue cases have been reported since January of this year. Out of these, 105 tested positive and two tested negative according to the 29th weekly report compiled by the Dengue Surveillance Cell. All of these patients were from Karachi and so far no cases have emerged from any other part of Sindh. The data is collected from about 200 hospitals registered across the province out of which there are about 50 hospitals that receive regular patients and send daily updates, while the rest send updates whenever a case is reported. The low number of patients is attributed to the fact that it has not yet rained in the city after which, according to doctors, the virus will spread. The peak months are from August to October.
