KARACHI:

The Port Qasim Authority and the Ministry of Ports and Shipping were put on notice for July 24 by a division bench of the Sindh High Court on Friday on a petition filed by a senior port official who questioned alleged illegal appointment of Secretary of Port Qasim Authority.

Zafarullah Rind, a grade 18 officer, 22 being the highest, filed the petition through Shoua-un-Nabi advocate.

He has maintained that he has been working at Port Qasim for the last 25 years and was eligible to be appointed secretary but instead a man named Qutubuddin Mulla, an outsider, was given the job in violation of the rules and regulations.

Justices Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi and Salahuddin Panwhar heard the initial arguments and ordered for notices be issued to the respondents for July 24.
