KARACHI: A quack was gunned down near Sohrab Goth on Friday evening by unidentified men over what police believe to be personal enmity.

According to DSP Iftikhar Lodhi, the victim was identified as Dr Ishaq, who worked at a private clinic near Al Asif Square.

The officer said that it seemed to be a case of personal enmity before adding that media reports, which described the deceased as a senior member of the World Health Organisation, were yet to be confirmed.

His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Earlier on Tuesday, assailants opened fire at a United Nations vehicle in Sohrab Goth area, wounding a foreign doctor working on a three-day polio vaccination campaign, and a driver, officials said.
