More than 100,000 people have so far been evacuated and transported to safer locations by the PN rescue teams, which have distributed more than 79,000 kilogrammes (kg) of relief goods among flood survivors. A team of doctors was also transported to Jacobabad by the PN Seaking helicopter, which also air-dropped 2,500 kg of relief goods in the area.
Two PN trucks, carrying 20 tonnes of relief goods reached Sukkur and Khairpur while 500 kg of ready-to-cook food and dates were also transported to Sukkur by the PN Fokker.
Over the next 24 hours, PN rescue teams plan to continue rescue operations in Thal (Jacobabad), Shikarpur, Rohri, Nawabshah and Matiari while three PN trucks, carrying 104 tents, 500 kg medicines, 2,000 mineral water bottles and food, will also be dispatched to Khairpur.
