Cricket: Waqas’ ton guides Alamgir into semis

KARACHI: Syed Waqas Ali struck a century to guide Alamgir Gymkhana into the semi-finals of NBP-KCCA Zone-VI Inter Club Cricket Tournament as they defeated National Gymkhana by 127 runs at the Landhi Gymkhana. Alamgir Gymkhana posted 277 for eight in 45 overs as Waqas made a 110-ball 106, while Hasnain Mughal bagged four wickets for National. In reply, National Gymkhana were all out for 150 in 40.4 overs with Bilal Manzoor capturing four wickets. In another match, Metropolitan Cricket Club beat North Shire by seven wickets at Asifabad Sports Ground. Set a target of 65, Metropolitan CC were home in 10.4 overs for the loss of three wicket as Fawad Abbasi made an unbeaten 23.
