FAISALABAD:

A man’s nose was slashed by a teenager in Mamokanjan on Friday to avenge similar injuries suffered by his mother in an assault by the man three years ago.

Sameer Ahmed, 14, who has gone into hiding after the incident, told The Express Tribune that he broke into Muhammad Maqbool’s house in Abadi Darbar Pir Mamon late night on Thursday and cut his nose with a shaving blade. He accused Maqbool of shaving his mother’s head and cutting her nose following what he said was a campaign led by some men in the area to malign her character three years ago. Maqbool has been given first aid at Allied Hospital.

Dr Mubarik Ali said a surgery would be performed to fix the nose after an x-ray examination on Saturday (today). SHO Afzal Hameed said they had registered an FIR against the suspect and started raids to look for him.

The SHO said there was no record of the three-year-old incident.
