KARACHI:
For the last one and a half month, the police have been working on a special case – the case of the missing bananas.
On May 14, the Artillery Maiden police station received an application which claimed that 49 dozen bananas went missing from the storeroom of Pearl Continental Hotel. The application was submitted by the hotel’s assistant chief security officer, who informed the police that they had received nearly 100 dozen bananas and took them to the storeroom after the inventory.
According to the hotel’s security officer, there were only 51 dozen bananas in the storeroom when they went to check later. The hotel management decided to contact the police after they searched hotel from top to bottom. According to the police, the hotel managements suspected that the bananas were stolen. ASP Usman Bajwa said that the police had obtained the footages of the CCTV cameras but had found nothing substantial yet. He suspects that it was an inside job and said that an investigation was being carried out.

LOL! If missing bananas and banana theft is the most serious problem in Pakistan, then Pakistan has nothing to worry about! By the way, did the police question the female employees at the hotel?
I think dildo bananas have been missed out
I thought somebody at least is doing a story that why the local banana is not available and now one has to spent more than rs200 to get a dozen bananas!
Vienna,June 30,2012 One thousand two hundred bananas are not much for a top hotel catering to thousands of guests being entertained in a week.Break fast buffet self help spread out, desert requirements withdrawn should have had a logging process for accountability. If management is lax the disappearance is explainable. Then discovery may have been a chance exposure. That should help in tracing the alleged loss by theft or unaccounted way of disappearance. Taravadu Taranga Trust for Media Monitoring TTTMM India --Kulamarva Balakrishna

Boy, this case must be driving the authorities bananas. What's happened to our country where even bananas are not safe? Outrageous. On a different note I wonder if they'd make a movie on the banana heist. Ocean's 14 anyone?
Terrorists stole them to extract the radioactive potassium they contain to build a nuclear bomb. It happens.
