LHC petition: Plea against deputy PM’s appointment
He requested the court to declare the appointment of Pervaiz Elahi as “illegal and unconstitutional”.

A petition was moved in the Lahore High Court on Thursday against the appointment of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as deputy prime minister.
The petitioner, Advocate Tariq Aziz Malik, claimed that the appointment of a deputy prime minister was aimed to reward a coalition ally and it had no provision in the Constitution, adding that it was a violation of Article 91 of the Constitution.
He requested the court to declare the appointment of Pervaiz Elahi as “illegal and unconstitutional”.
