As a result of the strikes, patients in government hospitals are deprived of medical treatment and are forced to turn to private hospitals.
In Faisalabad, work has been completely shut down in the OPD of many hospitals including the Allied hospital, Civil hospital and Cardiology Centre.
Even in various other areas of Punjab, the patients are highly inconvenienced by the strike.
The disturbed patients also protested against being deprived of medical facilities.

agree with asma. fact is that punjab govt is the real culprit for all this situation. YDA has protested peacefully for years but no body listened so its the last step they had to take. if govt cares so much about the people why dont they agree to reasonable doctors demands and solve this matter once and all. its like you dont give employs their pay and when they protest you say they are doing wrong without solving the real issues. more over punjab govt is spreading false rumours and lies through media saying that doctors get 70000 pay and double than similar rank officers in other fields, fact is completely opposite. doctors get 43000 pay for 17 grade medical officers and that is half of similar ranked judge or police officer.
Government should observe doctor's demands and entertain them so this matter is resolved as soon as possible. thanks.
@Haris: you are non medical practitioner that z y cant understand the hard work required to be a doc. easy to say difficult to do. docs are nt paid wt they demand. tht iz the reason tht compitant docs are fored to leave country whch iz sad bt they do other then that when a nurse is getting 32000 per month and HO gets 24000. when he saw his fellows which are other govt servants highly paid n unfortunately less qualified they feel depressed. to be a doc u hv to spend countless sleepless nights. they r on rite and shud get what they demand. atleast pak govmnt shoud learn frm india, bangldesh where ho is paid approx 72000 and mo is getting 85000. if the situation persists then u wil find docs anywhere bt nt in pak.
Shame on you doctors for continuing to ignore your duties for greedy demands. First your salaries were raised and settled, and now this. I am sure even after this matter is resolved, you Will be out in the streets again for meeting other demands.
Doctors are mistreated by the bureaucracy. Their demands are just and should be settled in line with the decision of supreme court. Nawaz Sharif blames others for not following decisions. He should see whether they have followed one.
