Presidential ordinance issued to protect Gilani's decisions
Petitions filed earlier said Gilani's decisions from April 26 should be declared null and void.

A presidential ordinance to provide constitutional protection to all decisions taken by former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani from April 26 to June 19 has been promulgated, Express News reported on Sunday.
The presidential ordinance stated that measures taken by Gilani during the April 26 to June 19 period cannot be challenged.
Earlier, in light of the prime minister’s disqualification, petitions were filed stating that Gilani's decisions from April 26 should be declared null and void.
The Supreme Court, on June 19, declared Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani ineligible to hold office and said that he had been ineligible since April 26.
