Tennis: Defending champion Bartoli defeated
Tamira Paszek recovered from a set and 4-0 down to reach her first final in two years.
EASTBOURNE:
Tamira Paszek recovered from a set and 4-0 down to reach her first final in two years as she beat defending champion Marion Bartoli 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 at Eastbourne. “Grass is good for my game and I enjoy playing on this surface,” said Paszek. She added that the windy conditions were the worst she had ever played in. “It was very tough, I just had to try to keep moving, keep my focus. I felt my hands were freezing cold all through the match. I wasn’t frustrated with the way it was, the weather was that way and we had to deal with it.”
