ISLAMABAD: The final legal move regarding the disqualification of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has been done and dusted. The cabinet division on Wednesday issued a notification declaring the premier’s slot vacant after the ouster of Gilani in accordance with the directives of the Supreme Court. According to the notification, Gilani stands disqualified from the office with effect from April 26. The cabinet division secretary also issued directives to dissolve the federal cabinet immediately. Though the posts of federal ministers, state ministers, advisers to the prime minister and special consultants have been suspended, the notification allows the defunct cabinet to enjoy privileges granted to their respective posts for another 15 days. The federal cabinet comprises 35 ministers, 18 state ministers, four advisers and six special consultants to the prime minister.
