
Punjab University will organise Invention to Innovation Summit-2012 focusing on the local research culture on Monday at 9:30 am at the Al-Raazi Hall Centre for Undergraduate Studies.
The one day summit, displaying 30 inventions, will be held in collaboration with the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and Institute for Research Promotion (IRP). It will be presided over by the PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran.
Minister of State for Science & Technology Rahela Shahadat Baloch and Federal Secretary for Science & Technology Akhlaq Ahmad Tarar will be guests of honour.
Former Pakistan Science Foundation chairman Dr Farid A Malik will present a keynote address on ‘Technology Competitiveness-S&T Policy for Pakistan’. Feroze Khan will deliver a talk on stimulating private investment in ‘New Technologies-Solution for Pakistan’.
The purpose of this summit is to establish strong linkages between industry and scientists for commercialisation of indigenous technologies. People involved with local research and development have been invited to show their ideas through posters, presentations, documentaries and physical prototypes. Industry and academics will also present their products and research experiences.
