SUKKUR:

The Shah Abdul Latif University Teachers Society (SALUTS) observed a “Black Day” on Thursday, and submitted a list of their demands to the Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur acting vice chancellor.

SALUTS press secretary Ishrat Ali Mangi said in a statement that the staff of all public universities in Sindh would continue to wear black armbands till June 28, and then would go on hunger strikes in front of the Governor House from June 28.

The staff have demanded that the university’s chancellor transfer the power of issuing NOCs to the vice chancellor and the removal of retired personnel from administrative positions. They also demanded that the university allot land for housing schemes in the staff campus.

Law and order situation across all universities in Sindh should be improved.
