Tragedies: Two die in separate incidents

HARIPUR: A man was electrocuted in Darwesh village on Wednesday. According to the police, Muhammad Arshad (son of Muhammad Ishaq) was digging up a pit in the courtyard of his house when the iron metal hoe he was using accidently touched an electric wire underneath. Arshad was seriously injured and taken to Women and Children Hospital Haripur, where doctors pronounced him dead. Meanwhile, an elderly man was killed when he was hit by a speeding rickshaw on Grand Trunk Road near Darwesh. Eyewitnesses and police told The Express Tribune that Khan Afsar, 60, was waiting outside a private hospital when he was hit. He was taken to the Women and Children Hospital Haripur where he died of injuries.
