Marital problems: Two get interim bail in elopement case

The woman’s father, Haji Gul Muhammad, had lodged an FIR with the Sharafi Goth police.

KARACHI:

The Malir district and sessions court granted interim bail on Wednesday to two suspects accused of kidnapping a woman, who had eloped with one of them.

The judge, Imdad Hussain Khoso, granted pre-arrest bail and directed the alleged accused, Farhad Abdul Razzak and Faisal Hussain, to appear before the investigation agency as well as the court for confirmation on June 9.

The woman’s father, Haji Gul Muhammad, had lodged an FIR with the Sharafi Goth police, stating that his daughter was kidnapped by the named suspects. He also accused the woman of stealing two-and-a-half tolas of gold and Rs120,000.

In her statement before the court, the 21-year-old woman rejected her father’s claim of being abducted or stealing from her house. She said that she married Farhad on her own will and her parents had registered a false case against the men to harass them. She also produced her marriage certificate.
