Burki police have yet to make an arrest in a murder case registered against a son of an additional federal secretary.
Shan Khusro, son of Additional Federal Secretary Khusro Pervez, is suspected of killing his friend Hamza Elahi, 22, son of Sheikh Fazal Elahi, on Saturday.
Elahi’s body was found dumped in Defence Housing Authority’s Phase VI on Saturday night. Later the same night his car was found from DHA Phase VIII.
Police said the deceased had been shot in the head from point blank range. He said it seemed that he was talking on his cell phone when he was shot.
Investigation Officer Arshad Ali Kanju said the police were analysing the evidence collected from the site which included the cell phone data and finger prints from the car.
The IO said they had carried out a couple of raids but failed to arrest the suspect.
He said the suspect had not volunteered to be questioned and joined the investigation on his own. He added that he had learnt from electronic media that Khusro had obtained an interim bail from a court.
Complainant Sheikh Fazal Elahi, father of the deceased, said he had also learnt through his sources about the interim bail of the suspect.
He said his son had left the house in Government Officers’ Residence-1 (GOR-1) on Saturday morning. “He told his mother that he was going to a get together at Shan’s house,” he said, “He asked her to call him in 15 minutes so that his friends let him leave early.”
He said his son could not have been killed in a robbery as his cell phone and wallet had not been touched by the murderers.
He said the deceased was a student at Lahore Grammar School.
