Fixed prices: Municipal officers given magisterial powers

According to a notification issued by the home dept, these officials can raid shops, impose a fine on the sellers.

KARACHI: The Sindh government has given first-class magisterial powers to deputy commissioners, assistant deputy commissioners and mukhtiarkars to help control the prices of daily commodities.

According to a notification issued by the home department, these officials can raid shops and impose a fine on the sellers violating the rules by using the magisterial powers under a section of Criminal Procedure Code.
