Unauthorised entry: Two men manage to enter Naval complex
One of those who entered the facility has been arrested and is being questioned. Whereabouts of second are unknown.
Two suspicious men managed to gain entry to a Naval complex in Islamabad, before one of them was caught by security personnel, the Express News reported early Sunday morning.
According to Express News correspondent Faisal Shakeel, the two men had managed to make their way into the complex after travelling over the Margalla hills, through the golf course and entered the head quarters near the Vice Chief of Naval Staff's office.
Security was immediately raised at the base with naval commandos and marines being called in to aid the hunt.
One of the two suspects was arrested and is currently being questioned. However, authorities could not locate the second man.
Shakeel reported that it was believed the other man had managed to escape.
Following the incident, all routes leading to and from the facility were sealed for two hours.
Last year on May 22, at least ten armed men had infiltrated the PNS Mehran naval airbase. They managed to destroy two P3C Orion maritime surveillance air craft. It took security forces up to 17 hours to regain complete control of the base. At least 17 officials were also killed in the attack.
