Friendly Fire: Two arrested during robbery

Two robbers were arrested n an attempt to rob a family near RA Bazaar Police Station.

RAWALPINDI: Two robbers were arrested on Saturday in an attempt to rob a family near RA Bazaar Police Station early morning, after one was accidently shot by his accomplice. Yousaf from Mandi Bahauddin and Jamil from Sarai Alamgir entered Mirza Muhammad Shakeel’s house at 6:45am and tried to tie his hands. When he resisted the attempt, Yousaf fired at him but hit his accomplice Jamil instead. The investigation officer said Shakeel’s son woke up on hearing the gunshot and overpowered Yousaf who was in a state of shock after shooting his accomplice. The robbers were handed over to the police,  who took the injured robber to District Headquarter Hospital for medical treatment after registring a criminal case, stated the official. According to the police, the two intruders jumped into Shakeel’s house and took him hostage at gunpoint. When Shakeel tried to snatch the gun from Yousf, he fired a bullet that hit his accomplice.
