Zero Tolerance: I will end judicial corruption, says Bandial

He says huge backlog of procedural litigation was a matter of concern.

LAHORE:
There will be zero tolerance for corruption in the judiciary, Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Umar Ata Bandial said on Saturday. Speaking to reporters at the LHC, he said that a friendly liaison between reporters and judges aiming at pointing out flaws in the judicial system was needed. Asked if he would take suo motu notice of public interest cases, Bandial said that as far as the high court was concerned suo motu action was not appropriate. He said that the huge backlog of procedural litigation was a matter of concern. He said that the state’s failures forced people to approach the courts.
