Immunisation: Anti-polio drive inaugurated

A polio vaccination camp has been set up in a slum near Bund Road.

LAHORE: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique and DCO Noorul Amin Mengal inaugurated the anti-polio drive on Saturday by administrating polio vaccination drops to children at Bund Road.  A polio vaccination camp has been set up in a slum near Bund Road. Talking to media, Mengal said that no negligence will be tolerated in polio vaccination drive.“If negligence is discovered, criminal proceedings will be initiated against the concerned staff,” he said. He said that 64 special enforcement teams headed by magistrates had been constituted and control rooms set up in each town to monitor the drive. He said that the teams will administer polio drops to 136,865 children under the age of five years.
