Acid Attack: Married woman loses an eye
A man allegedly threw acid on her face
ABBOTABAD:
A married woman was injured and lost an eye when a man allegedly threw acid on her face, here on Thursday. Gulnaz Bibi, 38, a resident of Salhad village told police that she had banned one of her husband’s friends, Bashir Gauhar from entering their house because of family rivalry. However on Thursday, as she was on her way to the market, Bashir, accompanied by two other men intercepted her in the proximity of Panj Pir Chowk. When she tried to avoid them, Bashir took out a bottle of acid and threw it on her face. As a result, her face and hands were injured. She was taken to Benazir Shaheed Hospital and had a surgery. The doctors said that she lost an eye and sustained wounds on the hands. The police have registered criminal case against Bashir and the two others. However, none of the accused have been arrested.
