Senior police officers of Lahore police finalised the security and traffic plan for Independence Day during a meeting on Thursday.
On the orders of CCPO Aslam Tareen, teams of police officials have been formed to curb wheelies and thousands of police officials will be on duty in Lahore on the day.
Strict security measures will be adopted in and around bus stands, trade and business centers and hotels across the city.
A large number of wardens will be deployed on various city roads to ensure a smooth flow of traffic on August 14.
Karachi security
Sindh Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza on Tuesday issued directives to the police to devise an extraordinary security plan in view of current law and order situation on the occasion of Independence Day in the province, particularly in Karachi and other big cities.
He asked to seek coordination with Pakistan Rangers Sindh and other law enforcement agencies.
He ordered strict security measures at Jinnah’s mausoleum, parks, beaches, zoological gardens and other public places, besides schools, colleges and other institutions where programs are organised on the occasion of Independence Day.
Mirza asked to devise security measures at sensitive places including airports, hotels, five-star hotels, food chains, embassies, residences of ambassadors, important government buildings, busy roads, shopping centers, markets and railway stations as well.
