Abortion Case: Plea against Meera deferred again

Petitioner asked court to direct the SHO to register a case against the actress, her fiance, three doctors and others.

LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Rai Muhammad Ayub Khan has deferred till May 28 arguments on a petition seeking a case against actress Meera, her fiancé, three doctors and others for allegedly helping her get an abortion, as the petitioner’s counsel sought an adjournment. Petitioner Muhammad Islam said he had read in a newspaper about the “illegal abortion” and had asked the Defence-B station house officer to register a case, but the officer had not bothered to hear his complaint. He asked the court to direct the SHO to register a case against the actress, her fiance, three doctors and others.
