Football: Chelsea to release Kalou and Bosingwa
The pair’s contracts expire this summer and Chelsea have decided against a renewal.
After confirming Didier Drogba’s departure on Tuesday, Chelsea are set to release both Salomon Kalou and Jose Bosingwa also, according to the BBC. The pair’s contracts expire this summer and Chelsea have decided against a renewal. Kalou of the Ivory Coast, who has made 127 appearances for the London club, was signed from Feyenoord in 2006 for around £8 million. The striker along with Bonsingwa, a £16.2 million signing from Porto in 2008, started the Champions League victory against Bayern Munch on Saturday. Meanwhile, Frank Lampard, Florent Malouda, Michael Essien and Paulo Ferriera all have one year remaining of their contracts and are likely to be offered an extension deal this summer.
