Glamour couple Paul Biedermann and Britta Steffen took gold and silver medals at the European Championships. Biedermann won the 200m freestyle crown, while world record holder Steffen clinched the second place in the 100m freestyle. “I wasn’t at 100 per cent but the timing isn’t too bad,” said Biedermann. Meanwhile, Steffen had to give second best to world champion Sarah Sjoestroem, who was winning her first title in the event. “I am determined to return to Germany and get some hard training in for the Olympics,” said Steffen.
