KARACHI: The National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) has added a new regulation in the application form for people applying for a new computerised national identity card (CNIC) under the directives of the Supreme Court. It is now mandatory for Hindu women to submit an affidavit as proof of marriage. If the woman is married, then the applicant’s husband will also have to sign the affidavit. The notification said that Hindu women who want to add their husband’s name to their CNIC or those applying for the first time will be required to provide an affidavit to prove their marriage.
