Cricket: No replacement for Jamshed, says Qasim
Jamshed was ruled out of the tour with a fractured index finger and was advised six weeks’ rest.
KARACHI:
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selection committee has decided against naming a replacement for injured opener Nasir Jamshed for the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka.
Jamshed was ruled out of the tour with a fractured index finger and was advised six weeks’ rest.
“We’ve decided against naming Jamshed’s replacement for the Twenty20s,” chief selector Iqbal Qasim told The Express Tribune. “There are enough options in the squad for the short series. We might name a replacement for the ODIs but will wait for the team management’s feedback after the Twenty20s before doing so.”
Apart from Jamshed, the Twenty20 squad includes Khalid Latif, Ahmed Shahzad and captain Mohammad Hafeez as openers.
