A man had his head, eyebrows and moustache shaved besides being beaten in Chak 662 until he fainted.
Police said residents of Chak 662 beat the man after a woman accused him of raping her sister-in-law. She said the man had entered their house while the men of the family were away at work. She said he then entered her sister-in-law’s room and raped her.
On hearing her shout for help, she said, she had locked the doors and gathered the neighbours, who beat him up and shaved his head, eyebrows and moustache. When he fainted from the beatings, the villagers called the police and handed him over to them.
The man’s brother told police that his brother had been called to the house saying there was an emergency. He said his brother was innocent. Police said the DNA samples have been sent to Lahore for a medico-legal examination. Further action will be taken after the report is received, they said.
