Mohajir Sooba Tehreek president announces weekly rallies until formation of province
Syed Zahid Hussain urges the government to immediately announce a Mohajir province.
KARACHI:
Mohajir Sooba Tehreek held a protest rally on Sunday at Korangi No 5 in Karachi. The rally was addressed by the movement’s president, Syed Zahid Hussain, via telephone from Dubai, Express News reported.
The movement had earlier carried out similar rallies in Liaqatabad and Orangi Town, mustering support for a Mohajir province.
The movement’s president said that Mohajirs were being marginalised in various sectors, particularly health and education, adding that they would hold weekly rallies in various parts of the city from now onwards until their demand for a new province was met.
Hussain urged the government to immediately announce the formation of a Mohajir province.
A map of the province has also surfaced which comprises Karachi, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas.
Earlier Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah had said that the government had begun digging out who was behind the Mohajir Sooba Tehreek.
“It looks some people are doing politics from this issue,” he said, adding “we will expose them.”
