Accident: 3 dead, 20 injured as passenger bus falls into ravine

Bus fell into ravine while manoeuvring a dangerous turn on the outskirts of Mansehra.

MANSEHRA: Three people were killed and 20 others were injured when a passenger bus fell into a ravine on Sunday near Mansehra, Express News reported.

The passenger bus, which was going to Lahore from Battagram, went over the edge and fell into a ravine while manoeuvring a dangerous turn some 6km from Mansehra, instantly killing three passengers.

A large number of residents of the valley reached the scene and began rescuing the injured as soon as the accident occurred.

The injured were shifted to King Abdullah Hospital in Mansehra, whereas those in critical condition were shifted to Complex Hospital Abbotabad.

According to Express News correspondent Uzair Ayub, the bus had dropped off most passengers at an earlier stop, bringing the count on board down to 24 passengers.

So sad :(

Over-speeding and careless driving are the common cause of accidents in mountainous region of Hazara. However the authorities and transporters have not been able to fix the issue by training the drivers and development of infrastructure and roads.
