The passenger bus, which was going to Lahore from Battagram, went over the edge and fell into a ravine while manoeuvring a dangerous turn some 6km from Mansehra, instantly killing three passengers.
A large number of residents of the valley reached the scene and began rescuing the injured as soon as the accident occurred.
The injured were shifted to King Abdullah Hospital in Mansehra, whereas those in critical condition were shifted to Complex Hospital Abbotabad.
According to Express News correspondent Uzair Ayub, the bus had dropped off most passengers at an earlier stop, bringing the count on board down to 24 passengers.
