MULTAN: EDO (Agriculture) Sardar Akbar Khan said on Monday that farmers should cultivate cotton crop by the end of May. He said the delay in harvest of wheat crop due to the unexpected spells of rain in the region could affect the target earlier set for the cotton crop. The EDO said output targets could be met if irrigation water was readily available and seeds of BT cotton were used in cultivation. He said the Agriculture Department expected that cotton would be cultivated on around 463,000 acres.
