Town planning: DG warns officers of stern action

Director general passed the instructions in wake of the Land Use Survey recently conducted by the Town Planning Wing

LAHORE: “In case of any unlawful alteration in the structure of a building or land use without approval from the concerned authority, the deputy director and the assistant director of the Town Planning Wing and Commercialisation will be held responsible.” The warning came during a meeting presided over by Ahad Khan Cheema, the Lahore Development Authority director general.  The director general said that the LDA was in charge of the Town Planning Wing and will take all steps necessary to ensure and supervise enforcement of building control and land use laws. He said strict action will be taken against officers who showed negligence. The director general passed the instructions in wake of the Land Use Survey recently conducted by the Town Planning Wing in various LDA-controlled schemes and areas.
