LAHORE: Pakistan Bar Council Vice Chairman Akhtar Hussain has appealed to the legal community to observe a black day on Saturday throughout Pakistan to mark the killings in Karachi on May 12, 2007. He has requested members of the bar as well as civil society to observe a countrywide Black Day on May 12. All bar associations throughout the country will hold protest meetings in their bar rooms to reiterate their condemnation of the incidents of May 12, 2007 when at the behest of General (retd) Pervez Musharraf the Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was detained at Karachi Airport and denied safe access to the High Court Bar Association in Karachi. The lawyers will hoist black flags at bar association offices.
