Flood-affected: PRCS to support 75,000 families

Support will be provided in areas including health, shelter and livelihood for people in Punjab, Sindh and K-P.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Crescent Societies will support 75,000 families in flood-affected areas. This was stated by RCS Chairman Maj. General (retd) Muhammad Nawaz Khan on Tuesday. He was talking to journalists on the occasion of World Red Cross/Red Crescent Day. Khan said that support will be provided in areas including health, shelter and livelihood for people in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). The first phase of the recovery plan will begin in southern Punjab where flood-affected people will be provided shelter, seeds and cattle. In the second phase the programme will begin in Sindh and K-P, he said.
