Law And Order: Two cops demoted, three suspended

The police have registered separate cases against the nabbed men.

ATTOCK: Taking note of negligence of duties by police officials, District Police Officer (DPO) Hilal Khan demoted two sub-inspectors and suspended three constables on Saturday. As per the orders issued by the DPO, sub-inspectors Sajid Hussain and Muhammad Asghar were demoted to assistant sub-inspectors, while constables Basharat Khan, Aqib Shehzad and Muhammad Irfan were suspended from service for one year. Meanwhile, the police arrested five persons on various charges during a crackdown against outlaws in different parts of a district. The Pindi Gheb police arrested Ahsan Ahmed Ali, Muhammad Nisar and Nawaz and seized 95 bottles of wine from Alvi, 115 grames of hashish from Nisar and 225 grames of hashish from Nawaz, while the Hazro police arrested Shafique Ahmed and Muhammad Javaid and seized a total of 222 grames of hashish from their possession. The police have registered separate cases against the nabbed men.
