Annual Development Programme: Work on 3 dams to start next month
Dams, in three districts of the province, would be completed at a cost of Rs2.1 billion.

The Punjab government has released Rs500 million for the construction of three new dams in Pothohar, the work on which will start work next month, stated a press release issued on Saturday. The funds were released under the Annual Development Programme. Minister for Irrigation and Agriculture Malik Ahmed Ali Aulakh made the announcement during a meeting that was held to review Irrigation Department projects. Aulakh told the meeting that the dams, in three districts of the province, would be completed at a cost of Rs2.1 billion. Chohan Dam (Rawalpindi) will be constructed at a cost of Rs800 million, Sora Dam (Attock) at Rs600 million and Arar Mughlan (Chakwal) at a cost of Rs700 million. The minister said that the dams would facilitate the people by providing potable water and irrigating thousands of acres. Earlier, an Irrigation Department official briefed the minister about development projects.
